A word from our CEO

As a mutual, RAA’s motives are fundamentally different to that of other organisations. We can – and do – play a key role in strengthening social connections, increasing trust and building a brighter future for our members and communities.

That’s been RAA’s focus for the past 120 years. It’s why we’re the state’s most trusted brand. And it’s why more than 830,000 South Australians (across three in every four households) trust us to provide the best products and services and represent their interests when it matters most. This is a responsibility we don’t take lightly.

Championing your interests has always been our priority, and perhaps even more so ahead of the next state election. But we shouldn’t always be looking to governments to solve our problems. Mutuals like RAA can have impact at scale – and we fully intend to.

Once it kicks off, our insurance partnership with Allianz will mean we’re more ready than ever to do more in, and for, our state.

We’re setting ourselves an ambitious goal of delivering even more for our members and the state we all call home.

So, you’ll see and hear a lot more from us going forward. We’ll be going harder on the issues that are important to you, and all South Australians. We’ll be demonstrating value to you like never before and doing our best to make sure no-one in our community is left behind. We’ll be giving you more opportunities to engage with us and have your say on the issues that matter most.

We know cost of living is hitting hard – and we’ve been really challenging ourselves to find ways we can provide relief. We’re continuing to build on our RAA Rewards program that already saves members more than $18 million each year, we’re seeing thousands of members save on our fair and transparent RAA Energy plan and thousands more saving almost $25 million through loyalty discounts.

We also know getting from A to B safely and efficiently is a big priority for you. You’ll continue to hear us call on governments to address South Australia’s $2 billion road maintenance backlog before it’s too late. Our roads are deteriorating faster than we can fill the bucket of money we have to fix them – and this will ultimately lead to even worse road safety outcomes.

As you know, road safety is a cause close to our hearts and I’m pleased to announce the launch of our inaugural regional road safety program. From May, our expert road safety team will be connecting with regional communities across the state on ways we can all work together to make our country roads and areas safer.

As a mutual, our reason for being is to make life better for members, better for our community. We have the ambition, the energy, and now even more capacity to deliver on that.
