A word from our CEO
One of the reasons RAA has been around for more than 120 years is our ability to look to the future, to grow, change and innovate, while staying true to our values. We put our members first. We’re always doing, and being better for our members and our community.
Now, with our new insurance partnership with Allianz Australia and a new governance structure in place, we’re ready to make an even greater impact for our more than 830,000 members and the state we call home.
Our partnership with Allianz allows us to bring global scale to our insurance offering, helping protect members from the challenges we faced as a state-based insurer – just as other motoring clubs around Australia have done. While this reduces risk and strengthens our long-term ability to serve members, your experience remains the same. RAA insurance still looks, feels and sounds familiar, with the same local teams delivering you the same great service in SA. We’re also excited by the opportunity to introduce new products over time.
The sector-leading return we secured for the partnership will be invested wisely and provide for our members for decades – centuries even – to come. RAA can make a real difference to the way we deliver for all our members, the value we return to you, new digital services as well as giving back to the communities and causes you care about.
Our team has been exploring ways to do just that, and I’d like to thank the thousands of members who’ve contributed to this work, sharing their views on what great value means when it comes to RAA membership. I couldn’t be more excited about some of the ideas we’re currently working on, so stay tuned for some big announcements on this front in the coming months.
While new things are exciting, we remain laser focused on alleviating your pain points, particularly around the cost of living. With many energy retailers announcing price increases this July, we’ve seen a huge surge in members switching to RAA Energy.
Unlike traditional energy companies who make money on every electron you use, RAA Energy members pay a monthly subscription to access fair and transparent electricity usage rates – without the retail markup. Our subscription is what we charge to keep our lights on and yours, so that we can help you get your power bills down as low as possible.
Simply put, if you’re paying more than 40 cents per kWh during peak times and you’re one of our 830,000 members here in South Australia, it might be time to make the switch.
Signing up takes just five minutes and we handle the rest for you. There’s no need for you to speak to your current retailer.

We’ve also introduced more than 20 new RAA Rewards partners in the past six months, bolstering a program that’s already saving members $19 million in discounts each year.
With the state election approaching, we’re shining a spotlight on the issues that impact all South Australians – from the $2 billion road maintenance backlog to the need for long-term infrastructure planning, particularly when it comes to improving our public transport system. Working closely with industry, government and community partners, we continue to fiercely advocate for investment that will deliver lasting benefits to communities right across the state, improving safety, connectivity and liveability in every corner of SA.
