A word from our CEO
As the state's largest member-based organisation, RAA is one of South Australia's most powerful advocacy voices, and we don't take that lightly.
We advocate for you year-round, but every four years, a state election turns up the volume.
Through our Growth without Gridlock election platform, we laid out a bold, practical vision to help South Australia grow safely – and keep the liveability we love so much.
With the Malinauskas Government returned to office, I'm pleased to report some genuine wins for our members. Together, these commitments will make a real difference to how people move around our city and state.
The government committed to extending the rail network to Adelaide's northern suburbs – a game changer for thousands of commuters, and the communities rapidly growing around them.
They also committed to making real-time fuel pricing a mainstay for motorists, backed by stronger penalties for non-compliant retailers. And $12.8 million was pledged to extend the MetroCard zone to Murray Bridge, opening public transport to more communities beyond the metro area.
These are real outcomes. But the election was never the finish line.
Growth without Gridlock is our ongoing commitment. South Australians get the best results when government and industry work side by side – and over the past four years, that's exactly what we've done, delivering outcomes like the RAA Charge Electric Vehicle network and real-time fuel pricing. We stand ready to continue that work with all Members of Parliament.
That's especially important right now, with high fuel prices and cost-of-living challenges. The Middle East conflict has driven volatility in global oil markets and fuel pricing, and concern and confusion for motorists.
RAA has remained the calm, credible voice in the conversation, providing clear, factual updates through the RAA app, the media and our own channels. In fact, you may have seen the RAA app was endorsed by the State Government as the primary source of information for fuel prices and availability during this challenging period. The significant spike in engagement tells us how much you value that information.
We've also had a seat at the table in government and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) roundtables, making sure your concerns reach the right people. We know the frustration is real and we'll keep pushing for transparency and accountability at every level.

Fuel is just one financial pressure on households. We're continuing to expand RAA Rewards to help ease cost pressures wherever we can. Last year RAA Rewards saved members more than $19 million and this year we're on track to help members save even more through discounts and offers with more than 200 partners – real, everyday savings on fuel, groceries, family activities and dining out.
We're always looking for new partners and new ways to stretch what membership means for our members. Whether we're working with government on infrastructure priorities or finding new ways to ease cost pressures at home, there's always more ground to cover. The work doesn't stop here, and neither do we.
