Our first responders
It's common knowledge that road crashes can have a far-reaching impact, whether it's the victim's family members, friends or even local clubs and community organisations. But, what about the emergency services that attend these devastating scenes? We speak to a CFS volunteer and a member of the Royal Flying Doctor Service about their experiences as emergency service personnel.
We know you love our regular quizzes, and this edition you're in for a bit of a challenge. Working with RAA's Road Safety team, we've found eight of South Australia's trickiest intersections.
You'll be quizzed on giving way, merging and how to best negotiate these junctions. Let us know how you go with the quiz and if there are any intersections we should feature in future editions of the magazine.
There are so many benefits to being an RAA member, from peace of mind knowing there's help available if you get stuck on the side of the road, to the variety of discounts you can get as part of RAA Rewards.

This edition, we feature some of the RAA members who have made the most of their membership, saving money every day.
Lastly, if you're looking to travel this year or just want a bit of inspiration, we have you covered.
Head to the Clare Valley for a cosy winter break or escape South Australia's grey skies for sunny Noosa on the Queensland coast.
While Japan is one of the hottest tourist destinations on the planet, have you considered South Korea as an alternative? If you're a fan of kimchi or just seen the viral movie KPop Demon Hunters, maybe South Korea should be on your travel list. Check out what this East Asian country has to offer.

Slow down, please
As a CFS volunteer, I often attend vehicle fires and accidents. Most drivers are courteous and mindful when approaching and passing the scene. However, there are some who need to be reminded to slow down to 25km/h when passing a service vehicle with flashing lights.
On the South Eastern Freeway or a multi-lane road, every lane on the side of the road where the service vehicle is positioned must slow down. I witness many drivers who move into a different lane and carry on at high speed.
Some may not be aware that from May last year, drivers must slow down to 25km/h when passing a stationary breakdown service vehicle with flashing yellow lights.
Please slow down and help keep everyone safe.

Hidden gems on the highway
Long car trips around Australia often mean quick roadside stops, but some country towns make it worth pausing a little longer. Many of these towns' public toilets are impressively clean, stocked with quality essentials, and even feature thoughtful touches like freshly picked flowers. Some even showcase stunning murals depicting the local landscape.
Next time you're passing through, take a moment to appreciate these well-kept facilities, and the locals who work hard to maintain them.

Saving with every cuppa
Having had a good read of the energy-saving article in the previous sa move magazine (autumn), I would like to add that item six about not overfilling your kettle is one of special interest. I want to advise readers that as a household of one, I have a small thermos next to the kettle. When boiling water for a cuppa, I add surplus boiling water to a thermos for another cuppa during the day, meaning I don't have to boil the kettle again.
